Lotus Evora S
Two years after the Lotus Evora was officially introduced to the world, the company has released details on the Evora S, a car slightly better than the standard model in almost every way.
The biggest differences are to the drivetrain. The interior now features an 'sport' button, which when pressed allows the driver to control throttle response and activate the exhaust by-pass valve. When in sport mode the rev limit is also increased and the dynamic stability control system allows for a bit more fun before kicking in.
The Lotus Evora S features an all-new active exhaust system which means the driver can adjust the sound coming from the pipes.
All the changes to the engine and exhaust system make for relatively significant gains in terms of power and performance over the standard Evora. Peak power has been raised from 276 hp to 345 hp @ 7,000 rpm, and the maximum torque output has been lifted to 295 lb-ft (400Nm) @ 4,500 rpm. The zero-to-sixty time has dropped by 3/10ths of a second to 4.6 seconds, and the top speed has gone up to 172 mph.
Lotus have also given the Evora S some upgraded cross-drilled brakes for better cooling, and a revised suspension system which is set up to better handle the car's extra performance.
